DESCRIPTION:The CTA-2045 Standard and Flexible Demand \nJuly 1\, 9:30 – 11:00am PST \nPresented by the NW Energy Coalition \nGrid-integratable water heaters and other interactive appliances and systems are the leading edge of a coming wave of customer-side resources that will increase energy system efficiency by enabling utilities to manage and shape electricity demand to a degree never before imagined. Combined with enhanced demand response capabilities\, improved energy efficiency\, and expanding distributed resources\, grid-integratable systems and appliances will play a vital role in transitioning the Northwest to an emissions-free electric system. \nThe webinar will explore key questions surrounding the rise of customer-side resources: \n\nHow can customer-side resources be engaged to optimally shape demand?\nHow large a role can customer-side resources play in meeting adequacy needs?\nWhat technological\, business\, and legal barriers stand in the way and how can we overcome them?\n\nAnd\, most importantly\, how can we bring customer-side resources to scale? These and other issues will be addressed by a panel of experts who have pioneered recent CTA-2045 pilot programs. \nThe discussion will be moderated by NW Energy Coalition Senior Policy Analyst\, Fred Heutte.
