Brian will take a pragmatic approach to exploring the innovation wave hitting the Construction Industry including sharing tips on sifting through new innovation and best practices for deploying new technology. John SanGiovanni – John SanGiovanni has more than two decades of experience as an entrepreneur and inventor. John has authored more than 20 patents in the areas of augmented reality, wearable hardware systems, and UI, many of which have subsequently been licensed or purchased by Apple, Microsoft, and others. John will provide an overview of how Virtual and Augmented Reality will transform Facilities/Owner Training in new and impactful ways. Hendrik Van Hemert – McKinstry – Hendrik Van Hemert oversees PNW technical service offerings for McKinstry. These offerings include active energy management, powerED, M&V. and Issue Management. Hendrik will share how the explosion of data in the operations of the built environment is setting the stage for a digital market transformation. He will outline barriers to faster adoption of technology in facility operations and explain how a dearth of foundational knowledge has limited the impact and scale of smart buildings to date. Doug Moore – McKinstry – Moderator – Doug Moore is president of McKinstry and will moderate the panel conversation.
