Microsoft Site Tour: Recap

April 1, 2019 By SBC

On March 14th, the Smart Buildings Center and the International Facilities Management Association (IFMA) Seattle Chapter co-hosted a tour of one of Microsoft’s newer buildings in the Redmond campus, with a focus on creating a workplace environment that cultivates collaboration, creativity, and thoughtfully designed spaces that enhance employee experience and productivity.  In addition, attendees were able to tour the Tree Houses, a set of amazing outdoor meeting and conference rooms, where one can be with nature while at work.

We want to thank IFMA, Microsoft and CBRE for putting together an educational and insightful event.  Check out the photo’s below and stay tuned for more upcoming tours this year!

An atrium allows for more visibility to the various floors in the building and features interesting art and architecture
Many Microsoft buildings feature a self-checkout snack bar with customized snacks based on preferences
Comfy Zone technology allows for users in the space to access an app to choose their comfort level
There are numerous areas around the campus that provide opportunities for collaboration and conversation that might not otherwise take place
Three tree houses outside of the building offer opportunities for Microsoft employees to take a break or get inspired by the outdoors
