Smart Buildings Exchange 2025 & Beyond!

Since 2020, the Smart Buildings Exchange (SBX) has united industry leaders through a mix of virtual and in-person programming. Originally launched in 2018 as the Why Smart Buildings Executive Forum, SBX has continually evolved to meet the needs of the industry.

Now we’re taking the next step. This year marks the beginning of a new era—a year-round Smart Buildings Exchange experience with ongoing virtual live webinars recorded throughout the year and an in-person conference experience each fall in Seattle.

2025 will be a transition year as we reimagine the future of our virtual programming. In the meantime, our Smart Buildings Center (SBC) Technical Webinar Series will keep you engaged throughout the year. Register here: https://cvent.me/LEWGoD

Join the 2030 Districts for a dynamic series of events focused on the cities of Seattle and Bellevue to learn about water management resources and strategies, connect with other sustainability professionals, and tour innovative urban sites to see sustainability in action.

What is Water Week?

In 2025, the Seattle and Bellevue 2030 Districts are launching a new and improved education programming during three Education Weeks. Each week held throughout the calendar will include a variety of elements including building tours, roundtable discussions, networking happy hours, webinars, and more.

The first of these will be Water Week, a dynamic series of events dedicated to advancing water sustainability in the built environment. By collaborating with property owners, managers, and professional stakeholders, we will provide educational opportunities that explore innovative solutions to meet the 2030 targets for water efficiency. Water Week will feature engaging webinars, site tours of sustainable properties, networking opportunities, blog posts highlighting best practices, and interactive roundtables to inspire actionable change.

To help make this event a success, we need your help to get the word out! In this toolkit, you will find sample emails, social media posts, and important event information to share with your community. Thank you for taking the time to share this wonderful education opportunity and for your support of the 2030 Districts.

California Climate and Energy Collaborative Opens Call for Proposals 2025

Proposal submissions are now open for the California Climate and Energy Collaborative 2025! This will be the 16th Annual CCEC Forum, themed “Hope in Action: Local Leads the Way”. Here’s a quick overview of the event from the CCEC website:

The 16th Annual CCEC Forum, themed “Hope in Action: Local Leads the Way,” will spotlight the critical role of local leadership in shaping a sustainable future amidst an uncertain climate landscape. With the urgency of the climate crisis growing and the growing clarity that it is local action that will lead the way, this two-day event will convene local and regional governments, State agencies, community-based organizations (CBOs), nonprofits, and private sector leaders to explore bold, actionable solutions. By showcasing how grassroots initiatives and regional collaborations are driving innovation and equity, the forum underscores the importance of local action as the cornerstone of climate resilience and progress.

This call for session proposals will help ensure that the forum will feature engaging sessions and new innovative activities to help climate and energy leaders and practitioners connect to learn about innovative projects and strategies, share best practices, and troubleshoot challenges.
