Pacific Tower Gets LEED Silver!

November 19, 2018 By SBC

Pacific Tower has been granted LEED for Existing Buildings 2009 Silver certification.  LEED certification identifies the Pacific Tower as a showcase example of sustainability and demonstrates leadership in transforming the building industry.

As a tenant in the Pacific Tower, the Smart Buildings Center has played a role in reducing the overall energy usage in the building through a tenant improvement program.  The program provides training and education events for tips on using less energy, and  contests to spur healthy competition among tenants.  With help from the Tool Lending Library, the team was also able to loan out data loggers and other measurement tools to track the usage on various equipment in several spaces within the building.

Congratulations to the entire team at the Pacific Tower  for this achievement, and thank you for your commitment to building a healthy, sustainable future.

EPA ENERGY STAR: Final Reminder – document current scores and data before 8/26

August 20, 2018 By SBC

In less than a week, performance metrics for all building types will be updated in Portfolio Manager, including 1-100 ENERGY STAR scores and other source energy metrics.

These new metrics will be applied across all time periods, which means your scores and metrics for all historical benchmarking data will change. Once this happens, EPA will not be able to provide “before and after” score changes for individual buildings or portfolios.

If you anticipate needing to document changes, it is strongly recommended that you document your pre-update scores and download your data NOW. You may need them for third-party certifications, local mandates, or other incentive programs.

For more details on the upcoming metric updates, visit www.energystar.gov/scoreupdates.
