Position Description

Seattle City Light, a department of the City of Seattle, is one of the nation’s largest municipally owned utilities in terms of the number of customers served. Over the years we have worked very hard to keep Seattle’s electricity affordable, reliable, and environmentally sound. Today, City Light is a recognized national leader in energy efficiency and environmental stewardship.

This position will manage on-going program performance across one or more program segments in the Customer Care and Energy Solutions program portfolio. The CCES Program Portfolio has four active program segments: Resource Acquisition, Affordability, Value-Added Services, and Transportation Electrification. Each segment is comprised of multiple programs whose individual objectives are aligned to achieve focused outcomes.

This position will be responsible for managing and coordinating cross-functional and cross-division or department work in a highly matrix organizational structure to implement the portfolio segment. This includes oversight of program managers, achievement of key metrics, stakeholder outreach and engagement, and on-going strategic alignment and road-mapping of the segment.

This position will support operational strategy and planning across defined portfolio segments. Key functions include ensuring program alignment to policy and strategic outcomes, setting program business success factors, reinforcing customer and RSJ-centric design and stakeholder engagement, and delivery of key performance metrics and time-sensitive milestones. The portfolio segment lead will advise the portfolio management team and make recommendations that shape operational strategy and policy for program inclusion and implementation within the portfolio segment. This position will report to the Solutions Design & Management Manager.
