SBX Session Highlight: Fault Detection & Diagnostics – Real World Lessons for Field Service
Join us virtually for the Smart Buildings Exchange (SBX) 2024 Fault Detection & Diagnostics – Real World Lessons for Field Service session on August 28th from 1:00 – 2:15 pm PT.
Recent field research provides valuable insight on the quantity, common occurrence, and persistence of faults detected in Fault Detection & Diagnostics (FDD) systems. These results, published by Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), are important for building operators/field service personnel and FDD software developers. This session will feature a lead researcher from LBNL and expert voices from field service and in-house operations staff on how FDD can be best used for operational improvement. Panelists include Jessica Granderson (Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory), Seth Ferrara (MacDonald-Miller Facility Solutions), Jeremy Richmond (MSIe), and Mike Bigelow, Seattle Children’s Hospital.

SBX Session Highlight: ESG Reporting – Losing the Acronym, Improving the Result
Join us virtually for the Smart Buildings Exchange (SBX) 2024 Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) Reporting – Losing the Acronym, Improving the Result session on August 28th from 1:00 – 2:15 pm PT.
The acronym may be falling out of favor, but the importance of gathering and reporting building performance data remains real and important. This expert panel will sidestep the fruitless contentiousness of “ESG” and instead look at real world examples where performance data is collected, and responsibility and accountability lead to observable progress in meeting goals – self-imposed and regulatory. Panelists include Drew Halpern (Denver’s Office of Climate Action), Josie Hart (Denver Botanic Gardens), Jeff Hughes (McKinstry), and Scott Morrissey (Denver International Airport). SBX Day 2 Opening Plenary: Innovations for an Electrified & Decarbonized Future
Join us virtually for the Smart Buildings Exchange (SBX) 2024 Day 2 Opening Plenary: Innovations for an Electrified & Decarbonized Future on August 28th from 9:00 – 10:15 am PT.
2030 always seemed so far away. Not anymore. The pressure to meet energy and carbon performance targets is real and pressing. Are we innovating far enough and fast enough to ensure that these goals are met? This high-powered panel discussion will look at where we are with the pace of innovation – technology, construction, finance, and policy – and what more we need to do to go further faster. Poppy Storm (2050 Institute) will moderate the discussion between Allen Preger (Building Ventures), Celeste Tell (Epicycled), Lucas Toffoli (RMI), and Steve Ruby (McKinstry).
