Why Smart Buildings? 2018 Executive Forum

May 2, 2018 By SBC

The Edge building in Amsterdam is elected to be one of the smartest and greenest buildings in the world.  “From the minute you wake up, you’re connected.  The app checks your schedule and…finds you a desk.  Because at The Edge, you don’t have one.  No one does.”  – (Full Bloomberg article and video here.).    That is just the beginning of the amazing and sophisticated technology you can find at The Edge, where Erik Ubels, Chief Technology Officer at OVG Real Estate and former CIO for Deloitte, was responsible for the development of this quintessential model of a smart building.

Join us at the Smart Buildings Center as we welcome Erik Ubels to our inaugural Executive Forum “Why Smart Buildings?”.  Erik will share his experience in the development of The Edge and how the IoT infrastructure within the building empowers a more productive workforce.  There will be opportunities for Q&A and we will also host a local panel with unique perspectives on smart in the PNW.  Seats are limited, register today!

What’s New With Cooling Tower Operations and Maintenance?

February 21, 2018 By SBC

Pacific Tower-Smart Buildings Center Training Room–Wednesday, March 21st, 2018–11:00am-2:00pm

Does your building have a cooling tower?  If you do, you need to attend the March 21st Workshop on “What’s new with cooling tower operations and maintenance,” presented by Seattle Public Utilities Water Conservation Program.  SPU has been providing incentives and education to the local community for many years.  After the Cooling Tower Incentive Program Pilot, and a few years of experience and data, combined with new products, the team and customers have lots of information to share.

Join Seattle-area chemical treatment providers, equipment vendors, property and facility managers, building engineers, and other cooling tower professionals as well as customers who may potentially be interested in participating in cooling tower-related incentives.

Attendees will learn about new innovations, incentivized equipment upgrades and new technologies to improve systems and save money.  There will be lots of shared experiences from customers large and small who are using best practices in Cooling Tower Maintenance.  There will be a tour of the Pacific Tower cooling tower.   Also, in partnership with the  Smart Buildings Center and NEEC, this workshop will count toward 1.5 continuing education hours for BOC Credential Maintenance.

Lunch will be provided.

Follow this link to register for this free class on Wednesday March 21, 2018, and to get more information. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/whats-new-with-cooling-tower-operations-and-maintenance-tickets-42684850537
