Energy Management Engineer II

With limited guidance from senior colleagues, the responsibilities encompass executing various efficiency projects within the premises of business customers for multiple PSE energy efficiency Programs governed by electric and gas conservation schedules.Ā Specific duties may include 1) Managing and implementing all phases of projects with customers from development through final installation verification, 2) management of specific programs and initiatives, 3) oversight of outside contractors and 4) oversight of utility energy service contract projects.

PSE Energy Management Engineer Job Description

Supervisor Energy Management Engineer

Duties include responsibility overseeing PSE Program Managers, Energy Management Engineers and third party contracts in delivering tariffed commercial and industrial energy efficiency savings in the Business Lighting Incentive (BLi) program.

Key responsibilities include oversight of and functionality and energy engineering analyses of the BLi Excel Application; program planning and budgeting; contract negotiation and management of the web-based BLi application; coordination of regulatory compliance activities including evaluation, measurement and verification (EM&V) and reporting of program results; employee development; customer service and outreach to BLi partners, contractor and distributors; maintenance of the Business Energy Management PowerBI report. Assignments involve customer projects with substantial technical complexity and initial identification and development of energy efficiency measures and programs, including budget and savings targets.

Senior Energy Program Manager – Tacoma

Tacoma Power is looking for a Senior Program Manager to join their Business Customer Energy Programs team. In this role you will be responsible for the successful development and delivery of innovative energy programs and projects with Tacoma Power’s commercial and industrial customers. Ā This position requires strong interpersonal and customer service skills, experience performing energy analysis, and advanced program management skills to ensure that Tacoma Power achieves its energy conservation goals and complies with Washington’s Energy Independence Act and Clean Buildings Law.

Tacoma Power relies on this position to provide expert program advice to customers, trade allies, internal staff and external organizations regarding energy consumption and energy cost management in commercial facilities. In this role you will collaborate with energy engineers and analysts, data scientists, resource planners, communications specialists, facility managers, commercial contractors, consulting firms, and Tacoma Power customers ranging from small businesses to key accounts.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Deliver energy programs and implement energy-saving incentive projects with Tacoma Power’s business customers. Ā Lead collaborative efforts to streamline and improve performance-based offerings for commercial buildings including Strategic Energy Management and compliance support for Washington’s Clean Buildings Law.
  • Provide expert advice to commercial customers by analyzing energy consumption patterns, performing energy assessments and financial analyses, and identifying opportunities for saving energy and reducing energy costs.
  • Work with regional partners to coordinate program offerings and requirements, such as commercial equipment rebate offerings.
  • Monitor new products and emerging technologies, assessing product performance and providing insights to inform future program offerings.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with commercial trade allies and understand what motivates them to sell and promote specific products. Ā Identify new and innovative ways to promote programs and engage business customers to participate in energy programs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, project management or directly related fieldĀ AND
  • 4 years of experience in energy conservation or energy efficiency programs.

About NEEC and the Smart Buildings Center:
The Northwest Energy Efficiency Council (NEEC) is a non-profit business association of the building efficiency industry. NEEC’s mission is to promote energy efficiency policies, programs and technologies that create jobs and foster economic growth and environmental improvement.
The Smart Buildings Center (SBC) is a 501c3 organization with a mission to accelerate the adoption and commercialization of smart buildings technologies and practices through education and demonstration. Through partnership with NEEC, the two organizations offer a physical meeting space in the Pacific Tower in Seattle and offer training, educational events and webinars, networking opportunities, and loan out diagnostic tools through the Center’s Tool Lending Library.

General Description:
NEEC is seeking a motivated Administrative Support Specialist to provide administrative support for the organization’s range of projects. In addition to supporting multiple projects and staff, this individual will have the opportunity to leverage their own knowledge and skills to streamline processes for efficiency and enable our staff to drive both NEEC and the SBC’s missions forward. The Administrative Support Specialist will support staff who manage projects such as the Energy Benchmarking Help Desk, the Smart Buildings Education Program, and the Building Operator Certification program. The role requires excellent customer service, organization, and verbal and written communication skills. The ideal candidate will also have the ability to prioritize multiple projects and comfort in serving as a point of contact to external stakeholders and internal staff. The position reports directly to NEEC’s Director of Education and Training and will work both independently and collaboratively throughout the organization, as well as with NEEC and SBC partner organizations as needed. This is a full-time position based in Seattle, WA with the latitude to work remotely.
