WSSHE Puget Sound Presents Future of Building Operations Profession Webinar

January 8, 2018 By SBC

According to demographic information from the International Facility Management Association (IFMA), the average age of facilities managers is in the 50s, so many people will be retiring within 10 to 15 years. Qualified workers are needed to replace the retirees, but there is a lack of qualified facilities engineering and maintenance trained workers in the job market today. Companies will be at a major disadvantage if they don’t have a structured training program in place to address this workforce reduction.

Join us for an educational webinar designed for Owners, Managers, and Supervisors. Learning objectives include:

  • Learn steps your company can follow to take control of these concerns by utilizing training and certification programs through associations, local colleges, and government.
  • Find ways to address barriers to establishing a training program.

SPEAKER:
Duane Lewellen – Program Director, Smart Buildings Center Tool Lending Library, BOC Instructor

DATE:
Wednesday January 24, 2018
12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Register for the webinar here.

Completion of the webinar qualifies for one BOC maintenance point.

The Tool Reservation System has also been improved to include project information for each loan and acknowledgment of the Tool Lending Library polices and customer agreement in one convenient application.

The website update for the Tool Lending Library will simplify the loan process for our members and provide the Smart Buildings Center with information on the specific uses for the tools being borrowed” according to Duane Lewellen, Senior Project Manager for the Tool Lending Library.

The Tool Lending Library is a project of the Smart Buildings Center Education Program and loans a wide variety of diagnostic tools to facility managers and other building professionals to evaluate energy use in their commercial buildings in Washington and Oregon.

The SBC-EP Board is comprised of business, utility and governmental leaders that span the stakeholders and constituents of smart building practices and technologies.
